The Reading Incognito Series
The Reading Incognito series is a personal letterpress project I conceived and printed as a promotional piece. It is a limited edition series of book jackets or “cover-ups” that allow the more modest commuter to disguise any book he or she might hesitate to bring out in public but secretly enjoys reading. I was inspired by my boyfriend’s hesitation to read his old school fantasy books on the metro due to covers featuring overtly nerdy graphics, as well as by the way Japanese bookstores wrap up their customers' purchases.
Each cover is designed to accommodate a wide range of formats and spine widths.
Each measures 18" x 12", printed with two inks on coloured construction paper on a Vandercook in combination with a proof press.
